AMERICA REBORN: Book Three of the Clash-of-Civilizations Trilogy ReviewIslamic terrorists destroyed five US cities in THE RINGS OF ALLAH. In BEHOLD AN AHSEN HORSE President Alexander brings the US back from nuclear disaster and strikes hard, unleashing the full power of the US military and bringing vengeance upon those who struck her. Now, in AMERICA REBORN, Alexander sets out to finish what he began in ASHEN HORSE, the complete eradication of Islam from the world!
To accomplish this, he uses all the military forces at his disposal. B-52's destroy Islamic strongholds from the air, while US Army Rangers bring the fight to the enemy. As this unfolds, Alexander must deal with two domestic crises as well. Liberal state governors challenge his authority and his military policies, while Mexican drug cartels attempt to invade the southern US. Alexander uses his intellectual prowess and his military command authority in both cases as he pushes towards his vision of a safe, secure United States, free from terrorism and drug-related violence.
Lee Boyland does not disappoint in this, the third in his Clash of Civilizations trilogy. Once again the action is fast and vivid, keeping the reader engaged and making this book difficult to put down. Though more politically charged than either of the first two books, President Alexander's personality and character make even the non-military moments meaningful and enjoyable to the reader. My favorite part of this book (and indeed the entire trilogy), is the way that, in addition to being extremely entertaining, it makes the reader think about political and military issues relevant to our current world order. Overall, this book was an excellent close-out to a very well written and professionally done series. Too bad it's only a trilogy!
Highly recommended by fans of the techno-thriller or military genre.

Have You Seen My Country Lately: America's Wake-Up Call ReviewWhat makes Jerry Doyle stand out from most of the other conservative talk show host's, is that, he's not a bucket carrier for the Republican Party. Have You Seen My Country Lately? exposes the corruptions and misdeeds of both parties whether its "Crapitalism" under George Bush or "Economic fascism" under Obama and the current Congress, Jerry shines a light on all of the cockroaches in Washington. This book is not merely a list of the wrongdoings of the idiots we send to Washington, but a call to action. I highly recommend Have You Seen My Country Lately? , I couldn't put the book down. I plan on buying 3 more copies to send to my friends.Have You Seen My Country Lately: America's Wake-Up Call Overview

Shariah: The Threat To America: An Exercise In Competitive Analysis (Report of Team B II) ReviewThis is the seminal work that our nation needs. There is finally a single all-encompassing reference that details the modern Jihad threat to the Dar Al Harb (the "house of war"). It outlines the master plan being carried out by the Muslim Brotherhood to impose Shariah Law on the United States, and those people in our own government that are not only ignoring the threat, but in some cases are actually supporting the destruction of the U.S. Consitution by abdicating their professional duty to develop an appropriate national security response.
It clarifies how Islam is NOT just a religion, but an entire way of life that includes its own codified law called Shariah, which is meant to rule over the entire world and be enforced against ALL people, not just Muslims. It identifies how Shariah Law contradicts many of the protections in the Bill of Rights, and especially women's rights (specifically, such behavior as underage and forced marriages, honor killing, female genital mutilation, polygamy, and domestic abuse including marital rape--where's the National Organization for Women (NOW) when you need them?). It clarifies how senior government officials, as well as generals and admirals in the military, are failing their oath to protect and defend the Constitution. It highlights why anyone supporting Shariah in the United States is commiting sedition and treason. It identifies how the Muslim Brotherhood are secretly waging a "stealth Jihad" through scores of front organizations.
The West is led to believe that Jihad is nothing more than an "inner struggle" while there are in fact four types of Jihad: of the heart, the tongue, the pen, and the sword. The Muslim Brotherhood's plan is to settle in the West to conduct a "grand Jihad in eliminating the Western civilization from within and sabotaging its miserable house BY THEIR HANDS". Through its front organizations like the Council for American Islamic Relations (CAIR) and the Muslim Pulbic Affairs Council (MPAC), as well as dozens of others, the Muslim Brotherhood is twisting the protections of our own Constitution and using them to protect themselves behind the First Amendment while waging a very effective propaganda campaign. Ignorant Americans, and especially high-ranking government officials, are then duped into supporting the Muslim Brotherhood's efforts falsely believeing they are supporting "religious tolerance".
What many Westerners have been falsely led to believe is that "Islam is a religion of peace" when it is much more than just a religion, and it's not peaceful. This is NOT a First Amendment issue. Article 6 of the Constitution states that the Consitution shall be the law of the land. Any efforts to replace the Consitution with Shariah or any other foreign laws is seditious and treasonous. This reference outlines how current laws that were used against other seditous groups like communists during the Cold War can be applied as tools to protect our nation against Shariah.
Don't take my word for it. Read the Koran AFTER applying the Doctrine of Abrogation to its peaceful verses. And read this carefully prepared and heavily annotated analysis. Only then can one understand the true intent of Islam. To speak about Islam without having done the homework only breeds further ignorance. Prepare to become angry.Shariah: The Threat To America: An Exercise In Competitive Analysis (Report of Team B II) Overview

The Invisible Constitution (Inalienable Rights) ReviewAh, the Internet, where a stray dog can bark and yap at a king. Tribe is an eminence grise of constitutional law, but this book doesn't reflect very positively on him: it's lazy, repetitive, and haphazardly organized. One suspects that it was an interesting 90 minute lecture before it was padded out to book length.
The first 25% of the text is dedicated to telling you how great the book is going to be when you finally get to it. I read it so you don't have to: skip this part.
The middle 50% of the book advances the argument that there are principles and rules generally agreed to be of constitutional force even though they appear nowhere in the actual text of the Constitution. For example, it's widely believed that the First Amendment to the Constitution prevents states from unduly restricting citizens' right to free speech. But the Amendment doesn't really say that; the text applies this restriction only to the U.S. Congress. The extension to the states is implicit.
Unfortunately, that's about as far as the argument goes. Evidently, the existence of an "invisible Constitution" is still something of a disputed issue among constitutional scholars, and in this book Tribe is more concerned with establishing a strong case for the existence of SOME "invisible Constitution" than he is with outlining what that constitutional "dark matter" might contain.
It's hard not to sympathize with his reticence. Any substantive claim about the content of the "invisible Constitution" would probably open more cans of worms than could be comfortably digested in one book. So, he's limited to a handful of airtight examples, none of which seem particularly important or enlightening. After all, they are all "settled constitutional law" that "everyone knows"; that's Tribe's point.
But Laurence, you had me at hello. Are there really people (scholars, no less) who conceive the Constitution to be a perfect document with no loose ends, rough edges, gaps, errors, or ambiguities? Surely some lacunae are to be expected. Does anyone seriously argue otherwise?
Tribe himself seems to be pacing, Tiger-like, behind the bars of his own narrow argument. I had the sense that he longed to break out and sink his teeth into some real meat, such as the construction of privacy rights or the constitutional issues surrounding gay marriage. But alas, that's a feast for another day. No meat for Tribe, or for you.
The final 25% of the book bounds off cheerfully into the realm of performance art. It consists of a series of six metaphorical viewpoints on the Constitution accompanied by full-color sketches in what appears to be magic marker. One by one, the "geometric," "geodesic," "global," "geological," "gravitational," and "gyroscopic" Weltanschauungen take to the stage to dance and play like the instruments in Britten's "A Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra." These sections are actually quite interesting, but they clash a bit with Tribe's turgid and professorial prose, and the relationship of the models to the "invisible constitution" isn't entirely clear.
All of these models attempt to intuit "what the Constitution is trying to accomplish," so they're potentially informative regarding unwritten aspects of the document. But their implications go so far beyond the domain of the "invisible Constitution" as Tribe defines it that they don't seem directly relevant to his argument. The Invisible Constitution (Inalienable Rights) Overview
